From August 21 to September 30, the Gestalt Gallery in Pietrasanta hosts the show entitled “Corpi” by Simone Fazio, curated by Gianluca Marziani.
Fazio paints primarily human bodies, in oils on canvas, using the photographic image as an intermediary between the live model and finished work.
In an interview from 2006 Fazio stated: “I want to communicate the frustration and disillusion that man lives day after day with no apparent means of escape. I’m in a nervous search for a balance that will probably always remain unachievable and my figures betray this sense of emptiness and rebellion that suffocates me. My attention focuses on the human body that lives and moves through all this bearing on and beneath the skin the signs of this continuous aggression that both physically and psychologically mutates the organism”.
