Eleonora Rossi – I’m sorry

Eleonora Rossi - I'm sorry / Eleonora Rossi - I'm sorry

From 4 – 30 September, the exhibition “I’m sorry” by the artist Eleonora Rossi, with a new series of photographs and a video-triptych, will be on held at Gallery 38.
The artist’s pursuit and reflections centre on the concept of forgiveness in all its social, ritual and existential scope.
The themes of remorse, repentance and forgiveness, traditionally closely associated with religion, are examined in a laic context taken from the artist’s personal experiences.
Born in Milan in 1976, Eleonora Rossi now lives and works in Lucca. After graduating from the Academy of Brera, she began working in Milan with one-woman and group exhibitions.
After an initial phase of experimentation with painting, when she made use not only of acrylics but also spay paint and bitumen, she turned her attention to photography and video.
In recent years she has shown work both in Italy and abroad: Scope Miami, Art Paris; one-woman exhibitions at the Joao Ferreira Gallery in Cape Town; Louise Alexander Gallery in Paris; Contemporary Concept in Bologna; and Palazzo Ducale in Massa. The next 2010-2011 autumn-winter programme includes exhibitions and video-photography productions in London, Buenos Aires and Cape Town.
