In the main tower of the Rocca Estense di Camporgiano you can visit a small, but interesting collection of ceramics dating back to a period from the end of the fourteenth century to the mid-17th century. The ceramics come from the throat wells of the fortress and were found during restoration works in the early seventies and are exhibited in showcases located on the two floors of the keep. Although there is no lack of clay typologies of Tuscan origin, most of the exhibits, from archaic staples to Faenza majolica, are evidence of the Este domain in Garfagnana. Everyday objects are also visible, such as spoons and thimbles and everyday objects in the kitchen. The most recurring iconographic themes are the pregnant rabbit on a flowery meadow (symbol of fertility), the greyhound (symbol of loyalty) and the beautiful deer symbol of ancient and generous nobility.
