Archaeological Exhibition of the History of the Ancient Hospital of Altopascio on the Via Francigena – Didactics

Various archaeological materials: marble, stone, ceramic, inherent in the material life of the ancient Altopascio (XIIth-XIXth centuries) In the suggestive spaces located between the silos corridor and the north side of the castle walls, where important archaeological excavations are still visible, there is the Historical Collection of material life of the Ancient Altopascio, that is the small but interesting archaeological museum. The contents of the collection testify multiple aspects of the material life of the area, from the twelfth century to the 19th century, up to the first examples of industrial materials. The materials originally from the medieval church or the cloister or the Palace are interesting, from valuable pieces to curiosities.
