Exhibition pavilion

The museum pavilion stands on the perimeter of the Roman mansio of the 1st century AD. A selection of finds from the archaeological area that tell the story of daily life between the 1st and 6th centuries AD are displayed in the museum Of great interest is the two-colored floor mosaic, depicting fantastic animals, inside the frigidarium. The large windows of the pavilion underline the link between the archaeological remains and the environmental context and in particular with the Massaciuccoli lake. It is also possible to visit the external archaeological area including the monumental remains of the thermal baths of the imperial villa belonging to the Venulei family and the ongoing excavations of the new part of the Mansio that emerged in 2006.
