The Eye of Lucca and the Gothic Line – Trekking

On Sunday 16 January, the association “Toscana Trekking” organises a trek in the little villages and ancient paths on the hills around Lucca: the Eye of Lucca is an ancient sighting tower on Monte Bargiglio, a medieval stronghold in the area of Lucca. These ancient paths, during the World War II, became the stage of battles fought on the Gothic Line, which ran through the Lucca hills.

Trek starting point: via Ludovica (aka via Primo Maggio) in Borgo a Mozzano at 9.30 a.m., near the roundabout to Lucca/Castelnuovo, near to “Il Pescatore” restaurant. From here, car transfer to the path. Return time: 5.30 p.m. The participants will have to carry their packed lunch and water bottle.

Cost: 12,00 € + 2 € for the guided tour along the Gothic Line
