25 June 2011, at 9pm, the Parish Church of Santo Stefano, in the surroundings of Lucca, will host the concert “Rare pieces from Lucca 17th Century ” by the Nuova Cappella di Palazzo Ensemble, directed by Jonathan Brandani.
The Ensemble continues in the fascinating discovery of the historical musical heritage of Lucca and re-proposes it using period instruments in original settings. The programme is dedicated in particular to works by Tommaso Breni.
The concert gives the oportunity to listen to the music of the sophisticate organ of the church, built in 1551 by the excellent “organaro” Onofrio Zeffirini
Free entrance.
The event is promoted and supported by the cultural association Nuove Tendenze, and sponsored by the Province of Lucca and Regione Toscana.

L’Ensemble Nuova Cappella di Palazzo diretto da Jonathan Brandani, presenta un originale concerto centrato sulla figura del compositore lucchese Tommaso Breni, che si terrà sabato 25 giugno alle ore 21.00, alla Pieve S. Stefano – Lucca (g.c.), dotata di un pregevole organo della metà del Cinquecento. Solisti i soprano Giulia Peri e Lucia Napoli e il controtenore Razek-François Bitar.
