From July 1 to November 13, 2011, the Matteucci Centre for Modern Art in Viareggio presents an exhibition dedicated to the collection of Mario Borgiotti, “marchand – amateur”, one of the most important experts and promoters of the “Macchiaioli”, the group of Tuscan painters from the late 19th century.
On show the masterpieces of macchiaioli painting, collected by Borgiotti during his life and now exhibited in the most famous Italian galleries.
The exhibition is promoted by the Matteucci Centre for Modern Art in collaboration with Galleria d’arte moderna di Palazzo Pitti, under the patronage of Ministero dei Beni Culturali, Regione Toscana, Provincia di Lucca and the Town Council of Viareggio
