Viareggio, la città del cuore di Shelley

Poetry, literature, visual art, medicine and theatre eperts will discuss about Shelley and his bond with the city of Viareggio. On 8 July 1822, less than a month before his 30th birthday, Shelley drowned in a sudden storm while sailing back from Livorno to Lerici in his schooner, Don Juan. Shelley’s body was cremated on the beach near Viareggio, but his heart left unburned. The meetings of “La città del cuore di Shelley” will also focus on medical aspects connected with heart and cardiac problems. The event is organized by Gruppo Editoriale Cinquemarzo.
