Mont’Alfonso Music Institute (M.A.M.I.)
Mont’Alfonso Music Institute (M.A.M.I)  was created as a result of the cooperation between the Presidency of the Province of Lucca and the Music School of Castelnuovo di Garfagnana. As its name suggests, this international institute is based at the wonderful Mont’Alfonso Fortress, which belongs to the Province of Lucca. The Institute high quality teaching activity is ensured by some of the most renowned faculties and concert performers from all over the world. The evocative, ancient fortress in which the activity takes place is the perfect location for a music institute, offering teachers and students a large lecture and concert hall, rooms for the individual practising, pianos and accommodation services and facilities. During the year, the fortress becomes a music campus where different schools and cultures meet.
The Institute activity takes place in different sessions  – from soloist and chamber music sessions to jazz ones. The faculties of each session, in addition to lessons, will hold master classes, lectures and concerts.
