Everyone will be enchanted by the melodies of the most famous Italian songs from the first half of the twentieth century. “Non ti scordar di me” (Don’t forget me) is the free concert given by the VIII edition of Cantiere della Musica Flam, who will recite melodies, songs and duets from the repertoire of Italian songs from the last century at the Rest Home in Marlia (Capannori) on Sunday 22 January at 4 pm. Soprano Laura Peschiera and baritone Paolo Morelli, accompanied by the Maestro Giorgio Maroni on piano, will perform music by S. Gastaldon, F.P. Tosti, L. Denza, C.A. Bixio and E. De Curtis.
Besides the better known Tosti with “L’ultima canzone” (The last song), other pieces from the time will also be recited, including “Occhi di fata” (Fairy eyes) by L. Denza, “Musica proibita” (Forbidden music) by S. Gastaldon and the famous “Non ti scordar di me” (Don’t forget me) by E. De Curtis. There are also two pieces from the French tradition: “Foglie morte” (Dead leaves) by J. Kosma and “La vie en rose”, rendered unforgettable by the extraordinary voice of Edith Piaf.
Lastly, the concert also offers a taste of Neapolitan melodies that represent the authentic Italian song, close to melodrama, the most famous and appreciated original product of folk music in the world.
