The inauguration of the exhibition “Aldo Buzzi and Saul Steinberg. A friendship of literature, art and food” takes place at the Museum of Satire and Caricature on Saturday 20 June, at 6pm.
The exhibition, at Villa Bertelli, documents the close friendship between the writer Buzzi and cartoonist Steinberg during the 20th century.
The exhibition has more than 150 exhibits, including books, magazines, photographs, sketches, letters, and a selection of texts with reflections and illuminating passages from the publications of the two authors. An exhibition that intertwines the life and work of the two protagonists, with an extraordinary unpublished source: around 70 drawings and small works of art directly donated or sent over more than 50 years of correspondence and conserved with care.
The exhibition also tells of their shared passion for food, in theme with EXPO and includes a showing of Steinberg’s TV interview by Sergio Zavoli in Steinberg, in 1967 (Rai Teche).
The exhibition is open everyday, with free admission, until 1 November: 17.00-23.00.
