"Museums and Cultural Landscapes" is the theme proposed for Amico Museo 2016, a project involving numerous museums for three weeks in Tuscany with special dedicated initiatives.
From 14 May to 5 June museums of Tuscany open their doors to welcome children and adults with guided tours, presentations of works, special exhibitions, workshops, entertainment.
On May 21 museums will stay open with night time, to celebrate the european Night of Museums.
For the occasion, the Museo Civico Archeologico di Camaiore will be open from 11.00 to 19.00, and eccezionalmetne, in the evening from 21.00 to 23.00. with free guided tours throughout the day.
The Museum houses archaeological finds of prehistoric, Etruscan and Ligurian, Roman, medieval and Renaissance, found in Versilia and in particular on the hills of Camaiore area. These are valuable testimonies that take us back in time and help us to understand how our ancestors lived.
