"Museums and Cultural Landscapes" is the theme proposed for Amico 2016 Museum, a project involving numerous museums for three weeks in Tuscany with special dedicated initiatives.
From 14 May to 5 June museums of Tuscany open their doors to welcome children and adults with guided tours, presentations of works, special exhibitions, workshops, entertainment.
On 21 May, the museums of alla of Europe will be open with night time, for the Night of Museums.
The Museum of the Risorgimento adheres to Saturday, May 28 – 11:00 with the opening of new facilities for the physical and virtual "accessibility" made by the Province to improve the usability of the Museum: a masonry ramp and a treadmill to allow visitors with mobility difficulties to get to the museum from the entrance of the Cortile degli Svizzeri, and the new website www.museodelrisorgimento.provincia.lucca.it to get in touch, by your pC or tablet with the story, the characters and the collections in the MuR even remotely, thus allowing scholars, enthusiasts and students deepening of important aspects of this historical period.
The morning will be enriched by a guided tour of the Museum by the prof. Luciano Luciani, scientific curator, accompanied by the storytellers of Gildo Fantardi who will perform songs of Garibaldi's tradition.
With these additional measures the Museum reinforces the path of improving its standards targeted to the recognition of important regional museum, a project supported by the Tuscany Region for the improvement of the quality of culture of the territory.
