The second edition of the Bagni di Lucca Art Festival, takes place between Ponte al Serraglio and the centre of Bagni di Lucca, between 4 July and 10 August.
The village will host around 50 painters, sculptors, photographers, musicians and performers of circus arts and acrobatics.
The festival came about with the aim of reviving the hamlet of Ponte a Serraglio and popularising art, fostering and promoting internationalisation and the coming together of different artistic cultures, but founded on local roots. The intention is to revive the glorious past when artists, visitors and art lovers turned Bagni di Lucca into a small capital of culture, immersed in the green Apennines.
Work by the numerous international artists will be on show in Via Vittorio Emanuele, in two consecutive parts. There will also be the exhibition “Who we are”, dedicated to five young, emerging artists from France, Australia and Hong Kong, who will be staying at Bagni di Lucca during the Festival period.
Also on show a water installation, a space dedicated to local artisanship, concerts, workshops and courses.
Admission to the exhibitions and performances is free.

The conceivers and organisers of the Festival are two young adoptive Luccans: Jaqueline Varela and Jacob Cartwright. The latter is an Australian composer, musician and photographer who, together with the volunteers of the Association Il Ponte in Arte, gave rise to the project.
