Along the characteristic paved the country you will ammmirare the many Nativity staged by households and commercial activities on the occasion of the tenth edition of villager competition "Benabbio in Crib" was born from the passion of the villagers to the crib and in particular for the Mameluke, the figurine all from small they have seen painting by hand in the country by their mothers and grandmothers. A particular route in the village where we will see the nativity scenes that will be exposed to the outside of housing and activities, in glimpses, in the most beautiful.
The cribs, fifty, are set up along the streets of the country and made with extreme care in anticipation of the competition and to teach children the art figurinaia, born in Bagni di Lucca. They will be numbered and a map will be created so that all visitors can stroll the streets of the town enjoying the special landscape.
In the middle of the journey, in San Rocco, visitors can admire the particular realization of completely handmade Nativity (work clearly out of competition) with a particular technique.
9 size statues made of metal material and made alive by the hands of Mauro Franceschi who has hand-painted all the heads of the figures, made starting from the T metal (iron) that is modeled with a wire mesh, then coated with different types of cloth and subsequently painted and resin, so as to give life and "expression" to the material.
