On 30 June, at 18:00, in Piazza San Michele (historical centre of Lucca), opening of Cartasia 2012. In this sixth edition are involved international artists creating monumental works made by paper. Selected by a jury, the works will be visible in the streets and squares of the historical centre of Lucca. Seven, one of which is out of competition, are the artists of this edition: Stefania Gianicci, Zsuzsa Horvat (in collaboration with Zoltan Lakatos), Inés Hubacher (in collaboration with Marianne Meienhofer), Jerome Wioland ( Chifumi), Andrea Marciano (in collaboration with Magdalene Vidale), Mikl Wells, Andrew Scott (out of competition). And among them, at the end of the event, will be declared the winner.
Each edition of Cartasia has a main theme, a common thread that must animate both the works of artists in competition. The theme chosen for this year is: crisis and rebirth. In the historical period in which we are living, where crisis is protagonist, the art is called to help man and his spirit.
