CELEBRATIONS FOR SANT'ERMETE – Palio dei Bagni

Sant'Ermete, which anniversary falls on the Feast of the Patron Saint of Forte dei Marmi, on the 28th August, is the largest and most famous summer fair in Versilia.
On this date, the belivers receive an image of the saint, made “‹”‹by a local artist with a prayer written on the back, in the form of poetry. A way to honor the saint but also to keep alive the memory of the finishing "season".

Religious events officially begin on the 26th with historical parades, processions of marching bands, with the exposure of the "cloth", a magnificent banner depicting the Patron, and the traditional bonfire in Piazza Garibaldi.
The day 28 is entirely dedicated to the fair and is crowned by an amazing fireworks display: a farewell to the summer that is about to leave.

The Palio dei Bagni, a well-known race of rowing boats, anticipates the religious events.
