Villa Argentina, Viareggio's Art Nouveau jewel, hosts every Wednesday afternoon a meeting between writers and readers. The event is promoted by the 'Villa Argentina' Promotion Committee in collaboration with the 'Viareggio Lungomare Bookstore'. At the end, an aperitif will be offered to the participants.
In today's meeting, Lanfranco Barbieri, one of the first doctors in Italy to promote computer methods in medicine, introduces to his books: "Introduzione alla prevenzione e diagnosi precoce nelle patologie vascolari, neurologiche ed oncologiche" and "Il cancro del seno Quello che ogni donna deve sapere" (Edizioni ETS).
Will participate Antonio Dalle Mura, President of Italia Nostra Sezione Versilia.
Current medical knowledge allows to prevent many deseases. The two books address the themes of prevention in the various fields: from the mental degradation of the ages, to the two most common – vascular and oncological – diseases, to breast cancer. Primary prevention (environment, lifestyle etc.), secondary prevention, modern diagnostic technologies to communicate a new approach to oncological prevention and review of literature and future research prospects.
