Villa Argentina, Viareggio's Art Nouveau jewel, hosts every Wednesday afternoon a meeting between writers and readers. The event is promoted by the 'Villa Argentina' Promotion Committee in collaboration with the 'Viareggio Lungomare Bookstore'. At the end, an aperitif will be offered to the participants.
In today's meeting, the focus will be on the book presentation "La Versilia tra antifascismo, guerra e Resistenza Guida ai luoghi della memoria in provincia di Lucca" (Pezzini Editore) by Federico Bertozzi, Jonathan Pieri, Andrea Ventura, coordinated by Gianluca Fulvetti. The authors Federico Bertozzi, Jonathan Pieri and Andrea Ventura will be present at the meeting.
Members of the Isrec association of Lucca, the authors of this book, coordinated by Gianluca Fulvetti, identify the most significant places in the memory of antifascism, war and resistance in Versilia, proposing four organic itineraries, also accessible by car, expressing the complexity of the historical experience of the territory during the considered period. Illustrated by maps with legends, enriched by photographs, the "Memory Paths" are complemented by a series of "Other Places", close to the main itinerary accessible for a more in-depth knowledge of the areas described, from Forte dei Marmi to Arni di Stazzema , from Viareggio to Camaiore. Concluding, there are three "Memory Trails", simple Mountain Trails dedicated to the events and protagonists of the War and the Resistance in the Apuan Alps region.
