Villa Argentina, Viareggio's Art Nouveau jewel, hosts every Wednesday afternoon a meeting between writers and readers. The event is promoted by 'Comitato per la valorizzazione di Villa Argentina' and is assisted by the 'Bookshop Lungomare' of Viareggio. To all participants will be offered an aperitif by 'Deltabevande Food Beverage Wine' from Massarosa and by Pasticceria Puccinelli Viareggio.
Today two books will be presented: Un tesoro di ragazza by Maria Teresa Landi and Luciana Tola and L'ultima dei Bastardi by Nadia De Stefano (Giovane Holden Editions). The authors participate at the conference. Introduction and presentation by the writer Laura Nicodemi
Un tesoro di ragazza: 2024. The technology has affected some aspects of everyday reality. Huge displays anywhere to stay connected, tram and metro strictly "green", intelligent cars combat smog and perpetual traffic jams. Basically, however, life has not changed much except in its outward aspects. Maria Teresa Landi and Luciana Tola live and work in Versilia. After a long experience as literature teachers, they have written texts of various kinds, from children's fiction to short stories and historical novels. Their works, mostly set in their homeland, won various awards and prizes.
L'ultima del Bastardi: Sofia, an orphan who lost her parents in a strange car accident when she was a child, is a restorer at the Uffizi gallery in Florence, a work that seems to be tailor-made for her, since she loves her hometown and its artistic heritage. The death of her maternal uncle and the consequent unexpected inheritance of a house in the Florentine countryside forces her to come to terms with her past. Nadia De Stefano was born in Reggio Calabria, in 1968, where she lived until the art school diploma. She lives and works in Viareggio. Writer since her teens, she has received several awards for her works in prose and poetry.
