From 4 to 26 July, the exhibition “Dipingere il Silenzio” (Painting Silence) by Matteo Ciardini is on show at the Paola Raffo Contemporary Art Gallery. An exhibition curated by Fernando Mazzocca, with recent work by the Lucca artist on the themes of the sea, lakes and marshes.
Ciardini’s work springs from an intellectual elaboration, and above all in the landscapes he elaborates his visual memories with much attention to the masters of the past, such as the 19th century Tuscan painters, but also with the contemporaries faithful to the poetics of realism (courageous in a time when the art world firmly refused realism) such as Vespignani, Sughi, Fallani, to name but a few. His canvases are painted slowly, with unlimited care, engaged by the magic of the lights that reveal the objects.

Hours: Tuesday to Sunday 11.00-13.00 / 18.00-24.00 (telephone to confirm)
