Emergenze Acustiche: the Tenuta dello Scompiglio makes itself heard.

To open the second year of activities at the SPE – Performance and Exhibition Space at the Tenuta Dello Scompiglio, the artist Roberto Pugliese (Naples, 1982) presents the sound installation, “Emergenze acustiche“ (“Acoustic Emergencies”).

This is a highly original project – an investigation into the relationships between space, sound and the individual, while at the same time a celebration of the Tenuta itself, and all it stands for.

This large sound installation with 80 plexi-glass tubes of different diameters and lengths acting as sound boards for the composition, suggests links between the various sections of the Tenuta in an organic, articulate and participatory manner. The exhibit is modulated, with the visitor prompted to look in different directions, in continuous movement, invited to immerse themselves in the environment, to become participant and director of the organic construction of the place, emphasising the impossibility of their being merely a passive receiver of stimuli from an external world, and the very real sense of they themselves being the creator of their own universe.

Emergenze Acustiche, curated by Angel Moya Garcia, will be inaugurated 19 October at 16.00 pm and will remain open until 19 January 2014.
