Ezio Gribaudo - Viaggi della Memoria

Enzo Gribaudo, artist, publisher, collector, promoter of culture, is an unusual figure in Italy’s twentieth-century art scene.

Gribaudo’s parallel routes are visible in his identification of a multifarious language, one that singles out, especially in the space of the material, all the interferences that occur between different and at times curious materials, and that have stimulated his creativity in conceiving original, one-of-a-kind works of art.

The exhibition traces the salient moments in the artist’s career: from the award-winning pieces shown at the 1966 Venice Biennale, to his return there in 2011 with a display of works at the Italian Pavilion. A journey through time in search of the man and the artist, as well as an opportunity to hark back to Gribaudo’s encounters with such major international figures as Giorgio de Chirico, Lucio Fontana, Karel Appel, Henry Moore, Hans Hartung, Jean Dubuffet, among others, with whom he also produced wonderful art books and whose works he collected.
