The eight districts of the Palio dei Micci of Querceta challenge each year in different specialties ranging from the now famous donkey race at the stadium of Pozzi (Fraz. Querceta) to historical parades in costume, from sports to culinary competitions.
The festival Miccio canterno (singing donkey) is one of the challenges of the Contradas. Each district shall submit an original song, sung by famous singers on the national scene that were winners or finalists in prestigious competitions and festivals.
The festival, that this year celebrates its 60th birthday, will take place in three nights. In the first two a jury will listen to and evaluate the songs, while in the third and final evening all songs will be replayed and the winners awarded.
