FESTIVAL OPERA BARGA

The Opera Barga festival hosts a local and International audience since 50 years and is now an important cultural event with the medieval town of Barga in its center, also if animating summer in the entire valley of the Serchio river side by side side with a festival of chamber music organized with dedication by famous musicians.

 

The festival has been created in 1967 on the initiative of Peter Hunt and Gillian Armitage, an actor and a British production designer who moved to Barga some time ago. The couple had the idea of using the Teatro dei Differenti of Barga to found an opera school that could give the opportunity to young singers, orchestras, conductors and stage designers to realize performances put on stage.

 

The program of the concerts with free admission of tonight, Saturday, July 29, is:
h 18:30 –  Barga, Cloister S. Elisabetta – W. A. Mozart, Quartet in Major K Anh.171 / 285b; Quartet in Major K 298;
D. Schostakovic, Quartet for arcs n. 3 in Major Faith Op. 73. Ensemble Le Musiche by Simone Bernardini.

 

h 21:30 – Barga, Teatro dei Differenti – Love and theological verses by the Most Noble Lady Zerina Samietz of Sebenico; music by Antonello Privitera; soprano Deborah York; soprano viola , Alberto Rasi; tenor viola , Claudia Pasetto; bass viola, Paolo Biordi; conductor and pianist Stefano Salvatori.
