Born in 1967 on the initiative of Peter Hunt and Gillian Armitage, an actor and a British production designer who moved to Barga some time ago. The couple thought of using the structure of the Theatre of Different Barga to found a school of opera that would offer the opportunity for young singers, orchestras, conductors and stage designers to work really shows that they were then placed in the scene.
The festival is now a cultural event of international importance which the medieval town of Barga as its center, but that animates the summer of the entire valley of the Serchio side with a festival of chamber music pcondotto with dedication from young and mature musicians fame.
Opera Barga, the festival of the province of Lucca that from 49 years welcomes spectators and tourists from around the world.
