The feast of the Holy Cross is celebrated with particular solemnity in Lucca, motivated by the presence of the precious medieval wooden corcifisso known as the Holy Face. On this day, as the feast of the Triumph of September 14, the crucifix is “‹”‹exposed and decorated with precious clothes and antique jewelry, gifts and vote of the faithful.
On the same day, in a sign of celebration, it was traditional welcome a market on the square prospicente Cathedral, a tradition that is still preserved today.

The nine municipalities of the Province of Lucca crossed by the Via Francigena, promote the routes and the specificities and characteristics of their area, including through the presentation of wine and food products that represent them.
Starting excursions on the Via Francigena from Seravezza to Valpromaro and hiking in Porcari, Montecarlo, Altopascio.
