This tradition was born in Rome in the seventeenth century as an expression of the baroque festival and hence spread throughout Italy. Big and small, from the early hours of the morning, make a carpet of colorful seeds and petals that will host the Corpus Domini procession and outdoor celebration along the road to the country.
In Capannori the traditional 'flowering' of Corpus Christi is an ancient tradition that involves the various communities of the area, which in the previous days go to the fields looking for the most beautiful flowers and from the early hours of the morning of the holiday day they prepare colorful carpets
Ruota's infiorata is one of the most popular in the area: from early morning the participants flock to the country's main street to prepare the carpet on which the pastor will walk to reach the church for the mass of 17:30.
