Great Italian design on show in piazza del Duomo and Palazzo Panichi: Giorgetto Giugiaro presents his creations from 28 October to 13 November. An unexpected surprise that crowns the already rich programme of the International Barsanti and Matteucci Award 2011, this year received by Giugiaro. “An award that honours me – said Giugiaro – and that I receive with great pleasure. I would like to return the compliment to the town”.
The popularising and educational exhibition “Giorgetto Giugiaro: il design e i suoi percorsi” is useful for who wants to know about Giugiaro’s background and the process of applied creativity; an exhibition that illustrates over half a century of Giugiaro’s work in the sectors of car design, product design and architecture, through drawings, sketches, plans, models and prototypes on display in the rooms of Palazzo Panichi. Giugaro will be present at the inauguration.
In piazza del Duomo, from 28 to 30 October, it will be possible to admire 11 Giugiaro designed cars that include some of the most important models in the history of motoring.
These are one-off research prototypes, two production cars and a plaster cast, or rather, a BMW M1, an Italdesign Aztec, a Fiat Grande Punto, a Alfa Romeo Brera, a Volkswagen Tex, a Giugiaro Vad.Ho, an Italdesign Structura, a VW W12, a Ferrari GG50, a Bugatti EB112, a VW Golf GTI and a Volkswagen Porsche Tapiro.
