Guided tour of the Parish Church of Saint Pantaleone

The Province of Lucca has organised a series of guided tours to promote awareness of the Romanesque churches in the Brancoli and Versilia area.

The coastal plain and the via Aurelia and that leading inland connecting Camaiore with Lucca, are all clearly visible from the Church of San Pantaleone in Pieve, Elici, characterised by a smooth façade with square ashlars, a lack of sculptural decorations and a moderate verticalism again marked by the bell tower isolated on the southern side.

This initiative forms part of the European ITERR-COST project which has the aim of promoting the Romanesque cultural heritage of the northern Tyrrhenian area.
