The Community of Montecarlo celebrates with Maestro Herbert Handt his ninetieth birthday in memory of the beautiful opera season that brought in town. There will be moments of musical entertainment by the Puccini Montecarlo Philharmonic and the Choir of the Collegiate of Montecarlo.
Followed by a toast in honor of the Master.
The Master is an honorary citizen of the country in 2010 in homage to the long activity of great popularizer and appreciated musician performed for the enhancement of the Municipal Theatre Reassured for which she created many opera season in the past.
Hebert Handt was born in Philadelphia (USA) in 1926, graduated from in working for four years under the guidance of Arturo Toscanini and has known the lyrical world through his apprenticeship at New York's Metropolitan Opera. In the midst of a career ececzionale he chose Lucca as his residence contributing directly in the cultural life of the city, organizing festivals and founding associations.
