The series of interviews promoted and organized by the online magazine Maledetti Fotografi and LABottega is back again; A live talk show with great personalities of the contemporary photographic panorama that has become considerably popular last summer. The garden of LABottega – a multifunctional space devoted to photography which has become a benchmark in Versilia over the years – opens up to become an ideal place where photographers share their experiences during public interviews conducted by journalist Enrico Ratto, founder of the magazine Maledetti fotografi.
Today's appointment is with Jacopo Benassi.
Born in La Spezia in 1970, he began as a mechanic and now is a photographer. He collaborates with Rolling Stone, GQ, Wired, Riders, 11 Freundes, Crush Fanzine and BBDO and 1861 United agencies. In 2007 he participated in the Vade Retro exhibition. Art and Homosexuality, from von Gloeden to Pierre et Gilles, curated by Vittorio Sgarbi and Eugenio Viola, and two years later 1861 United published a monumental monograph, The Ecology of Image, which Jacopo says he does not deserve. He takes part in international fairs and exhibitions, but he does not have enough, so he decides to open a club in La Spezia, BTomic, where he lives and offers music, drinks, food, fanzine and a lot of experimentation.
