IL CINEMA E OLTRE - Heaven's Gate

After the summer pause under the stars 2016, the film festival Il cinema ed oltre returns to its normal place at theCinema Centrale in Via Battisti, Viareggio.

From September 27 the many movie fans of versilia will appreciate top quality movies in first-run as well as restored masterpieces at really low prices.

The event, organized by the Entertainment Department of Viareggio's Municipality is curated by Dr. Giulio Marlia and usually held every Monday night.

Tuesday, September 27
20:30 h. – Heaven's Gate, by Michael Cimino (USA 1980. Duration 216 min). In collaboration with The Cinema Ritrovato Cinema Film Library of Bologna.
Wyoming, 1890: the society of farmers plots the legalized killing of innocent immigrants accused of occupying the territory. The film, restored in 2012 in its full version, under the personal supervision of Cimino, appears in its dazzling beauty and today's viewer can finally enjoy a powerful and majestic show.

Monday, October 3
21:15 h. – The aquatic effect, by Solveig Anspach (France, Iceland 2016).
A real bittersweet fairytale with irresistible comic highlights that has heated up the audience at Cannes festival, where it won the award La Quinzaine des Realisateurs 2016.

Monday, October 10
20:30 h.- Kings of the road, by Wim Wenders (Germany 1975).
The manifesto of the New German Cinema, returns in the movie theatre after 40 years. In 1976 at the Cannes Film Festival Wenders won the prize of the international critics with this road movie in black and white that traversed Germany and chased the American dream.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at Cinema Centrale, starting from the Thursday of each week.
