IL MARE CHIAMA. Paesaggi marini da Fattori a Carrà

An enchanting panorama of vivid images of the 19th and 20th centuries centered on the theme of the sea and the boats, pays homage to the nautical fair Versilia Yachting Rendez-Vous, which debutes in the docks of Viareggio from May 11th to 14th. Over thirty works of important artists, especially Italians, many of whom came regularly to the 'Pearl of Versila' (Viareggio) during the Belle Epoque years. The canvases show, even with different aesthetic results, how the vision of the sea has exerted a lot of attractive power on everyone.

The marine landscapes on display are not only Tuscan but also embrace other areas of Italy. Artists such as Boldini and Ciardi have preferred in fact to portray the lagoon of Venice or the Adriatic Sea, offering an interesting comparison based on the different types of landscapes and color shades. Among the exhibits are works by Giovanni Fattori, Alfredo Muller, Ugo Manaresi, Giulio Aristide Sartorio, Benvenuto Benvenuti, Lorenzo Viani, Moses Levy, Plinio Nomellini, Giovanni Boldini, Guglielmo Ciardi and many others of no less importance.
