Meetings and screenings promoted by the Foundation Visual Arts Center of Pietrasanta and Lucca Film Festival-Europa Cinema, in collaboration with the Province of Lucca and curated by Alessandro Romanini and Nicola Borelli.
Today's theme is: "Fashion, Film and Design. Between History, Costume and Crafts ". A topic that will be treated from the early twentieth century to the present day, illustrating with the help of archival visual materials, filmed documentaries and testimonies, the importance of a productive sector such as fashion, which, like the cinema one, has created a worldwide collective imagination of dreams and desires .
Cinema and fashion, an inseparable pair and historic collaboration, by the power of celebrity culture phenomenon that accompanies the film from its inception to the stage costumes, through the skilled craftsmanship.
Just in this last context, Tuscany plays a leading role, thanks to its historical "fashion shops", the experience of the workshops for the theater and prominent figures such as Salvatore Ferragamo (the shoemaker of the stars ..), but also Emilio Pucci and Giovan Battista Giorgini, the creator of the first fashion event in Florence in 1951 in Villa Torrigiani that marked the birth of Italian fashion in the world.

The meeting discusses the various moments of the evolution of fashion, from its birth to the crisis between the two world wars, the transition from tailoring shops to big brands to the latest phenomena, folding art, craft, design and cinema.
A topic that is the ideal setting to Villa Argentina, a jewel of Liberty, against the scenic Galileo Chini ceramics and paintings by Giuseppe Biasi, which also house the structured dialogue between cinema and painting from the exhibition dedicated to Marco Bellocchio produced by the Lucca Film Festival- Europa Cinema.
