Prose, music, theatre, dance: art in all its forms come together this summer in Marina di Pietrasanta with the wealth of performances programmed for July and August, boasting a host of nationally celebrated protagonists and more, at the 34th edition of La Versiliana.
Each performance starts at 21.30 in the atmospheric setting of La Versiliana park – a vast area of Mediterranean scrub-land, bought by Pietrasanta Town Council in 1980, with plenty of space for creative workshops and equipped for children.

Fondazione La Versiliana
The first summer theatre season in the park of the Versiliana took place in 1968, run by the Azienda Autonoma di Soggiorno della Riviera della Versilia. Since 1975, activities linked to the theatre have been managed by the Town Council of Pietrasanta, who in 1979, managed to buy the park and the Villa Versiliana. The first “Versiliana” festival took place in 1980 under the artistic direction of Franco Martini. In the years following, the section dedicated to dance was introduced, as well as “Incontri al caffè, held by Romano Battaglia. In these afternoon meetings famous people from the world of culture, showbiz, and politics speak with the public in an atmosphere which aims to recreate the tradition of the cultural cenacles which made the Versiliana famous at the beginning of the 1900’s.
