For summer 2013, MuSA has organised a series of events under the common title ¨Light Matter¨.
This event revolves around three main exhibitions, each linked to other shows at the same time.
The event kicks off 14 June with “Officina Contemporanea”, curated by Alessandro Romanini, Director of Pietrasanta Visual Arts Centre and teacher at Academy of Carrara, an exhibition entitled Radical Minds – Radical Design, dedicated to architecture and design, and in a series of exhibitions, Sculpt time, with documentaries and experimental video centred around figures from the worlds of art, design and architecture.
The event continues ( from 3 August to 1 September) with the exhibition “Shapes of Marble. Medici’s Versilia, 500 years later. Sacred and Profane in the Contemporariness”, curated by Andrea Marcuccetti, teacher of Architecture at the Sacred Sapienza University of Rome, and architects Attilio La Pietra and Tiziana Burrini. The exhibition celebrates the 500th anniversary of the papacy of Leone X.
7 September – 6 October, The last exhibition, The Memory of Stone, curated by Cesare Monti, is a group exhibition paying homage to Pietrasanta’s workers, intertwining their life histories with that of the territory through video interviews, portraits and poetical displays.
