Sunday 18 May sees the return of Letterathè, the project consisting of meetings and debates organised by the Local Authorities of Lucca, Department for Culture with the collaboration of the Civic Library Agorà and the organisational contribution of the associations Il Vallisneriano, Società Lucchese dei Lettori and LuccAutori.
The first of the two meetings organised by LuccAutori – that maintains the now twenty-year commitment of presenting figures who represent excellence in the field of culture – is with

Pierangelo Buttafuoco is an established and successful writer. Also known for his participation in radio and TV shows, he is undoubtedly a highly interesting and stimulating figure. His book has been the object of much debate and appreciation throughout the year and remains one of the most read novels in Italy.

“Tredici canzoni spagnole antiche e una ninna nanna” (Thirteen Ancient Spanish Songs and a Lullaby) – Friday 13 June, Underground Bastion San Regolo, 21.00
Performance of the first part of Garcia Lorca’s poetry collection “Songs”, SPANISH FOLK SONGS
The performers will be mezzo-soprano singer Laura Brioli, the Maestro Riccardo Mascia on the piano and Eugenia Pesenti as the reciting voice.
Each “song” will be briefly introduced to better grasp their spirit and history. Singing in the original language will be accompanied by the reading of the Italian translation. Admission free.
