LOOKS PARALLEL – SGUARDI PARALLELI

The new exhibit, curated by Paolo Bolpagni, has two protagonists: the Frenchman François Morellet (Cholet, 1926), one of the largest and most celebrated living artists, among the undisputed masters of the contemporary, and Mario Ballocco (Milan, 1913-2008) , painter and theorist of enormous talent and pioneering genius, of which he is underway for several years to rediscover.

The two were, one in France and one in Italy, precursors, at the beginning of the fifties, many kinetic and programmed art aspects (and to some extent also of Optical Art), which would explode as a general trend in the following decade.
Are on display in the Foundation Ragghianti approximately seventy works, many of which are new in Italy (and even unreleased in the absolute sense), documenting the career of Mario Ballocco and François Morellet from 1945 to the eighties.
The rooms show the parallel development of their research, running on a dual track that allows you to make comparisons and to measure similarities and differences.
