Once again the concerts of Lucca Summer Festival will take place in Piazza Napoleone, in the historical town centre of Lucca this July.
From its modest origins in 1988, with just three performances, this tradition has grown year after year with the participation of artists of national and international fame which has made this festival the most eagerly awaited musical event of the Tuscan summer.
This year’s line-up features a host of timeless artists such as Canadians Bryan Adams and Leonard Cohen, the newly reunited Litfiba, currently on their Italian “trilogy of power” tour, and the black music of Earth Wind and Fire. There is even a free evening dedicated to local talents.
To open the 2013 edition will be the Jazz notes of Diana Krall on 6 July at 21.00.
A further 14 dates follow, featuring rock, soul, disco and much else, up to the closing performance by the Neapolitan singer-songwriter Pino Daniele and Marcus Miller on 30 July.
