The aim of LuccaAutori is to let the authors meet the readers in a friendly and informal way. In the “Incontri letterari” (“Literary meetings”), that take place in suggestive places within the walls of Lucca, new books by important poets and writers are presented to the public in open debates, chaired by journalists and experts.
The event features meetings, art exhibitions, courses and short films. The 21st edition of the literary festival LuccAutori, linked to the 24th edition of the Racconti nella Rete Award, will take place in Lucca from 26 September to 11 October.
The protagonists of the 2015 edition of the literary festival LuccAutori, directed by Demetrio Brandi, are Katia Ricciarelli, Nicola Lagioia, Luca Sofri, Adrian Bravi, Eraldo Affinati and Ennio Cavalli.
This year’s events include the “Racconti per Corti” Award ceremony. There will be a screening of the winning short film in partnership with the School of Cinema Immagina and the Sceneggiatori website, as part of the LuccAutori programme.
The festival also includes the award ceremony of the poetry competition “Il gran me ed il piccolo me” organised by Cinzia Dipace.
Besides the literary award and meetings, the programme also includes the exhibition “Racconti a colori”, organised by the students of the Passaglia di Lucca High School of Arts on show at Villa Bottini.
The event will conclude, as usual, with a meeting at Villa Bottini of the 25 short film makers, who were selected, in June, as winners of the Racconti nella Rete Award.
The LuccAutori manifesto and the cover of the anthology Racconti nella Rete were designed by the cartoonist Sergio Staino.

LuccAutori was born in 1994: the “Incontri Letterari”, with Romano Battaglia, Arrigo Petacco and Marisa Volpi, took place in the palazzo Ducale and in the Casermetta San Pietro. In the years many important authors took part to the meetings. We recall among others Alda Merini, Alain Elkann, Andrea Pinketts, Younis Tawfik, Francesco Alberoni, Claudio Fracassi, Walter Veltroni, Maurizio Maggiani. In 2002 the contest “Racconti nella rete” was joined to the meetings. The contest tries the use of the Internet to publish the works of emergent authors.
