MARCO BELLOCCHIO. LA PITTURA DIETRO L'OBIETTIVO.

Villa Argentina, the jewel of Viareggio's Art Neuveau architectures, hosts one of the four exhibitions that enrich the film festival Lucca Film Festival and Europa Cinema. More than 100 works to pay homage to master Bellocchio divided into two sections: The first part consists of 12 paintings created at a young age, between 20 and 23 years, while Pop Art was spreading internationally, a style that would have gotten final consecration in 1964 at the Venice Biennale.

To this early core are added about 100 works on paper, designed during the making of his films, from the first "Fists in the Pocket" (1966) until the award-winning movie "Blood of my blood," (2015): drawings and sketches but also real works, complete from the point of view of expression, a sort of "pre-visualization" of the film characters and their behavioral tics, their psychological profile, but also of the costumes and environments, the sets and lighting conditions, weather and color.
