Friday 21 October at the auditorium of San Girolamo, the Province of Lucca, BargaJazz Festival, Opera Barga Festival and Lucca Jazz Donna present: “Contemporaneo Immaginario” (Contemporary Imagery) taken from an idea by the trumpet player Marco Tamburini with Three Lower Colours & Vertere String Quartet.
An unconventional ensemble formed by jazz and classical musicians: Marco Tamburini – trumpet/live electronics, Stefano Onorati – piano/live electronics, Stefano Paolini – drums/live electronics and the Vertere String quartet formed by Giuseppe Amatulli-violin, Rita Paglionico-violin, Domenico Mastro-viola, Giovanna Buccarella-violoncello.
A concert dominated by the mixture of sounds and influences: jazz, electronic and classical music in a continuous exchange of suggestions that go beyond the canonical classifications of genre.
This event, fruit of the co-production of the Festivals of the Province of Lucca, forms part of the regional “La Toscana dei Festival” project, that has among its aims the interaction between the various festivals, the mixing of different musical genres and the promotion of research projects into new forms of artistic expression.
“My imagery” claims Tamburini “is made up of layers of sound that merge in an absorbing electro-acoustic resonance, full of colour and with a fantastical atmosphere that is directed towards contemporaneity. The electronics used by the trio, interwoven into a dense work of composition, arrangement and improvisation with the acoustic weft of the string quartet, take the listener on a journey through unknown territories. The air will become our means of transport.”
The event will be held, for the second consecutive year, in collaboration with and at the LU.BE.C. – the international meeting on technologies for cultural heritage organised by the Promo PA Foundation.
