"Memorie riaffiorano" - Giovanni Balderi

From July 17th to August 8th, the one-man exhibition “Memorie riaffiorano” of Giovanni Balderi”, featuring seven of his sculptures (four of which are new) is on show at the Sala delle Grasce of the cloister of Sant’Agostino. The artist draws primarily upon nature, man and his human emotion as the inspiration for his work.

Giovanni Balderi was born in Seravezza, in 1970, and graduated from the State Art College of Pietrasanta in 1990. In 1994 he continued his study of anatomy and shaping with the master sculptor Enzo Pasquini. In 2001 he taught the first course on sculpture techniques at Brisbane, Australia. In 2007 he  participated in the Biennale of Cairo, and in 2009 in the cultural twinning of Montgomery (Alabama) and Pietrasanta, and the Italian Festival of Arts and Crafts in Israel. In 2010 he started teaching sculpture at Sylacauga, in Alabama.
