“NEMO PROFETA IN PATRIA

Artists available/artists on show”

is the event that includes small exhibitions and meetings with artists born or living in Lucca, promoted by the Provincial authorities with the Foundation Cassa di Risparmio di Lucca.

The initiative, particularly tailored for local high schools, sees four artists meeting with students to discuss and recount their professional experiences that range from painting to sculpture, photography to engraving and the internet, with particular reference to blogs.

The four protagonists of the exhibition will attend the inauguration of their own shows and meet with the public at the Tobino Room of Palazzo Ducale:

• The opening exhibition is by the sculptor, graphic artist, engraver and blogger Francesco Moretti, who has lived and worked for years in Greece, and is on show following the meeting of Wednesday 19 March, until 6 April.

• The meeting of 9 April is with the photographer Massimo Vitali, whose exhibition runs until 27 April.

• The meeting of 30 April sees the opening of the exhibition of works by the painter Agostino Cancogni, on show until the 18 May.

• The closing exhibition is by the sculptor Emanuele Giannelli, who exhibits her collection from 21 May to 8 June.

Admission to the meetings is free, as is that to the exhibitions, which are open every day from 9.00 – 19.00.
