Nino Mustica – Pittura solida

From April 3rd to June13th, work by the Sicilian artist Nino Mustica is on show in the “Pittura solida” (Solid painting) exhibition held at the Church of Sant’Agostino and in Piazza Duomo.
Nino Mustica is known as one the great experimenters of contemporary art. His creative process combines various disciplines, passing from painting to multimedia, resulting in a “solid painting”, that, having starting on canvas has been progressively brought to life until taking on a three-dimensional sculptural form.
7 large sculptures from the “Steel” collection are on show in Piazza Duomo, and 20 recent works, 10 canvasses and 10 graphic works are exhibited at the Church of Sant’Agostino.
Nino Mustica was born in Adrano (Catania) on the 26th of August 1946. He currently teaches at the Istituto Statale d’Arte of Catania, Accademia di Belle Arti of Brera, Milano, Fine Art University of Budapest and Politecnico of Milano.
