Lucca pays homage to Luigi Boccherini on the anniversary of his death which took place in Madrid on May 28, 1805 and does so by means of the two major local cultural realities named after him, the Luigi Boccherini Studies Centre and the Institute of Musical Studies "L. Boccherini".
The first event is scheduled for Friday, May 27 at 21:00 at the Auditorium of the Suffrage with the concert Boccherini and his time with music by Boccherini and Mozart performed by Simone Soldati (piano) and Alberto Bologni (violin).
The concert will be presented by Gabriella Biagi Ravenni and Marco Mangani.
Saturday, May 28 at 12:00 in the church of San Francesco, where he is buried, will be held the official commemoration of the composer from Lucca with a musical performance by the Institute "L. Boccherini" with Gabriele Andreotti (guitar) and Cristian Monti (harpsichord).
