It is dedicated to the recipes of San Giovanni Leonardi, patron of pharmacists, the book by Father Francesco Petrillo, superior of the Order of the regular clerics of the Mother of God, which is presented on Saturday, May 6, at the banquet hall of Borgo a Mozzano.
The volume "Parole che guariscono" recalls the pastoral history of San Giovanni Leonardi: born in Diecimo (Lucca) around 1541, he practiced in the Tuscan town for about 11 years, then devoted himself to the study of theology. He was ordained a priest in 1572 but in 1584, while in Rome, was banned from the city for disturbance of public order and lack of respect for the constituted authority.
In the eternal city, however, he quickly gained great fame, so that he would receive, after a few years, the task of reorganizing religious congregations and reforming monasteries by Pope Clement VII. He died in Rome in 1609 and was proclaimed holy by Pius XI in 1938.
