The Associazione delle Ville e dei Palazzi Lucchesi, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of its foundation, realizes cribs in the chapels of some of the most beautiful historical villas of the Plain of Lucca, creating a path to rediscover one of the strongest and oldest traditions, thanks local crafts of "figurine" (plaster figures for the cribs).
A very unique and evocative experience, so to be able to visit the nativity scenes inside the Villas and Palaces Chapels. They will be a total of five and all different, set up in as many palaces, chapels, historic villas of Lucca.
The route starts from the center and winds through the hills of Lucca passing through quaint villages of the municipality of Capannori up to the imposing fortress of Montecarlo.
The route will start in Palazzo Bernardini in the heart of the historical center of Lucca, which will feature a revisiting key lay in the nativity; the chapel of Villa Oliva in San Pancrazio (Lucca) and the chapel Santini of Villa di Camigliano (Capannori); Then, through San Gennaro (Capannori), Palazzo Boccella, where students of the school of haute cuisine MADE, led the Chef Guido Lotti and a master chocolatier, will carry a nativity scene figurines made of marzipan and chocolate sweets and serve them with production mulled wine in the afternoon of day 8, 11 and 24 December, (17:30 – 20:00) and.
The environment will also be welcomed from the accompaniment music of the Philharmonic Gaetano Luporini and for the occasion you can visit the parish church of St. Gennaro that houses an angel attributed to the school of Leonardo Da Vinci.
Finally, in the chapel of the Montecarlo Fortress containing space for a crib rebuilt using ancient statues of the end '800.
Crucial was the collaboration of Arte Barsanti, which since 1900 creates plaster figures, and of MADE school pupils of Capannori, to develop the chocolate and marzipan crib.
The route runs between three municipalities, in different dates and times, just to allow visitors a comprehensive visit.
Thre itinerary will be inaugurated on December 8 and can be visited on the following dates: 8/9/10/11 – 17/18, 24 and 26 December, then to the New Year in the days / 6/7 and 8 January, with time 14:00 / 17:30.
The Palazzo Bernardini crib will instead be visited, always on the same days from 10:00 to 22:00.
